How to embed photo slideshows and music players in Facebook

My SnackTools Follow us on: Facebook | Twitter
Make your widget
Make your image slideshow with PhotoSnack and your music player with PodSnack. They are both very easy to use, but if you need any help creating them, read some articles from our blog, or contact our live chat support.
After you’ve published your widget, click Embed.
Check the Enable embedding for HTTPS pages box and copy the code. (Suggestion: Don’t use the Copy button. Copy the code by selecting it and then pressing CRTL+C on keyboard).
Go to Facebook
1. Log in as yourself, not the page.
2. Next, you’ll need an iframe page tab to embed your slideshow or playlist. There are many Facebook apps for this purpose. Here are 3 we tested and worked:
Static Iframe Tab
Static HTML: Iframe Tabs
Woobox Custom Tab
For this tutorial we’ve chosen the Woobox Custom Tab, so you could do the same.
3. Enter Woobox Custom Tab in Facebook search bar and select the Woobox Custom Tab app (it has 1.000.000+ monthly users).

4. Click the green button that says Install Page Tab.
5. Choose the Facebook Page in which you want your custom tab to be:

6. Authorize the Tab Application, then click Okay in the pop-up window.

7. Paste the embed code under Enter the HTML for your page:

8. Change the tab Name (optional)
9. Change tab image (optional)
10. Click Save Settings

 11. If you choose to set a custom tab name(6) and tab image(7), you’ll have to Grant Permission to Application to access some data from your Facebook, so click the green button, and then Okay.

12. If you want to edit your new tab to add text or an image, go to your timeline and the new tab, and click Edit Settings.

 13. To be able to format text and add images, URLs and more, you’ll need to select the Editor view instead of Source (where you’ve pasted your code). You’ll see the embed code turned into a playlist or slideshow.

You should know that this is all easier than it looks. If you follow these steps, success is guaranteed! :)

We’ve had several requests for HTTPS from our users, making us realize how important this is for some of you. That is why we’ve added the secured protocol to SnackTools widgets and banners recently.
If you have an HTTPS website and you want to embed a SnackTools widget, use the HTTPS version of the code on your site, and you will no longer deal with blocked content issues as you did before.
Keep sending us your feedback.
We’ll keep calm and use it for better banners and widgets.

20 music player templates

October 22nd, 2013
If you’re looking for a music player that will fit perfectly on your website or blog, you’ve landed in the right place.
PodSnack has 20 customizable templates, varying from players with playlist and song details to progress bars and mini players (On and Off buttons). If you need a small discreet player, go for a miniplayer. If you want people to pay more attention to it, use a player with playlist or a progress bar and bold colors.
After you upload your music (from Dropbox, Youtube or computer), customize the player. Do you plan to embed it into your website? Coordinate the player’s colors with the website! Install a color picker on your browser to copy colors from your website and use them on the player.
We almost forgot to mention: the embed is as easy as copy – paste. Just give PodSnack a try, we love it!

The best websites have great content on them and they are beautifully designed.
Design matters. If you want to have an attractive website, use images.
Image sliders are even better, because they add dynamism and are more engaging. People use them a lot these days for stylish homepages, and you can create one yourself!
Go to PhotoSnack.com and set up an account. Next, upload the images you want in your slider, and choose a template. We think the best template for website sliders is the Image Slider. You need to set the size, hide the title, description and the share options in the “Settings” section. The auto slideshow option is checked by default – don’t change that.
Finish and copy the embed code. To be able to use your slideshow without limitations, activate premium options.
Now paste that code into the HTML source of your website. If you don’t know how to do that, search for a tutorial here on our blog!
Tips:
  1. Use horizontal images
  2. Make sure they are all the same size
  3. Match the slider’s size to the size of your images

╔═══╗ ♪    Some of you guys have asked us about images in NotifySnack. Well, ║███║ ♫   you can’t use them yet, but you can jazz up your website notification      ║ (●)  ║ ♫   with  text pictures  and symbols.
╚═══╝♪♪   Of course, a lot of symbols will make the notification look ugly and childish, so don’t use too many.
Our advice is to choose only one, and preferably something that’s related to the message in your notification.

Here are some text pictures we like:
☂ ★ ♠ ♬ ✈ ✄ ✉ ☎ ❖ ❀ ❤ ✾ ✡ ♧ ☺ ♀ ♂
Of course, if you’re really lazy, you can copy and use a symbol from this blog post. But if you want to learn more, keep reading!
If you’re using Windows, you can access a list of all symbols here:
Start ➢ All Programs ➢ Accessories ➢ System Tools ➢ Character Map
Next, choose font: [Arial Unicode MS].
Check the box for Advanced View.
Character set: [Unicode]
Group: [Unicode Subrange]. ➢  Symbols and Dingbats
Now you can choose and copy any symbol you like.
You can also create symbols using your keyboard:
Turn Num Lock on. Hold the Alt key and type the symbol code. Release Alt key.
For a list of all Alt symbol codes, check this: http://alt-codes.org/
If you’re a Mac user, you can’t create all these symbols with your keyboard, but you can use some of them: http://alt-codes.org/mac/
Now go to NotifySnack and make a stylish notification with text symbols!

Without spreading it all over the internet, Google Adwords changed the size of their supported image, animated and flash ads. But we’ve noticed, and we’re sharing the news with our readers and users, knowing that many of you are using Google’s advertising program.
The limit for these types of ads used to be 50kb and we know many people who were complaining about the small size that imposed drastic limitations in their banner ads. The new size is 150 kb, allowing you to use more effects, images or slides, and to make better & more complex ads.
If you’re interested in making an ad, be it image, animated GIF or flash, give BannerSnack a try. It’s free (with limitations) and very easy to use, letting you create gorgeous banner ads for AdWords or other ad networks.

Hello everybody,
We’ve been working on NotifySnack and we’ve added new features that you’ll definitely like. So here they are, listed below:
1. The most important and powerful new option is the Display Rules. This new option allows you to embed multiple notifications (with different messages and skins) into your website and display them on specific pages depending on the structure of the URL . This way you can target your website visitors with different messages depending on the page they visit or many other criteria (eg. logged or non logged users).

2. Dismiss on collapse – Once your website visitors collapse the notification bar, it will stay hidden forever.

3. Collapse on button click– The notification bar will collapse when the visitor clicks on the notification button.
If you have both options: “Dismiss on collapse” and Collapse on button click” checked, then the notification will stay closed forever when people click on your call to action button.
If you have any questions regarding NotifySnack, contact us. We’re always happy to assist you!
